October is EleVAte Virginia Workforce Month

The power to Elevate Virginia is rooted in the Commonwealth’s people and its businesses.  Whether it is the businesses that already call Virginia home or new companies considering a new location, the strength of the workforce is their primary concern.  Virginia’s future economic strength and global competitiveness depend on the readiness of a highly skilled and well-trained workforce to fill the increasingly complex jobs that mark the 21st century economy.

Spreading the Word

The "Virginia Preschool Initiative Program helps to provide support for children's families, enabling them to provide for the children's needs at home." Sue Pratt (Bedford Local Coordinator)  participated as a community resource exhibitor on Jan.31, 21014 at Bedford Elementary School. One hundred and forty four parents were enrolled in the evenings' class. She was introduced during the opening welcome and had the opportunity to speak directly to interested people during their dinner breakout session.
